Jp2g provided mechanical and electrical design and assistance with tendering and implementation for the renovation of approximately 7,800 ft2 at Kars on the Rideau Public School, as well as the addition of approximately 25,000 ft2 to the existing building.
The renovation included two computer labs, a library, two classrooms, a music room, a stage, and administration area. The addition included 14 classrooms, a multi-purpose space, storage, administration offices, and new electrical and mechanical rooms.
Jp2g's design included custom high efficiency cassette-style rooftop ERV units. Existing underground natural gas, power, telephone, and fibre optic cable services were relocated to allow soils remediation work to be performed prior to construction of the school addition. Jp2g's design also included a new sprinkler system, controls, plumbing, heating and HVAC, power, lighting, fire alarm, telephone, data, and a new roof-top mounted emergency power generator.
